Job summary

Rocket EMS is seeking a Process Technician to support and improve PCB assembly processes on the production floor in Nevada. You will work with engineers, operators, and quality teams to monitor processes and drive continuous improvements.

The role requires hands-on experience with SMT and through-hole processes, IPC standards, and data analysis to identify trends, troubleshoot deviations, and mentor operators.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing or process support in contract manufacturing.
• Familiarity with SMT, through‑hole, reflow, and soldering processes.
• IPC‑A‑610 and/or J‑STD‑001 certification preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret IPC workmanship standards and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret process documentation prior to production.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust SMT, through‑hole, and supporting processes to IPC standards.
• Perform first article verification and validate new builds before release.
• Troubleshoot process‑related issues including solder paste, placement, reflow, wave solder, and selective solder.
• Support engineers in process development, validation, and NPI activities.
• Collect and analyze process data to identify trends and root causes.
• Ensure compliance with ESD, MSD, safety, and housekeeping standards.
• Train and mentor operators on correct process execution.
• Document process changes and generate pass‑downs.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on yield, throughput, and cost reduction.
