Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a PCB Designer (Starlink) in Redmond to create layouts for in‑house boards, partnering with Hardware Development Engineers on schematics and reviews. You’ll help iterate designs for RF and power conversion, contributing to mixed design mixes from phased arrays to solar converters.

Strong emphasis on manufacturability and test is required. The role requires a degree in EE or 3+ years of PCB experience, plus familiarity with Mentor Xpedition or Altium.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 1+ years of professional experience with PCB layout OR 3+ years of professional experience with PCB layout in lieu of a degree
• Internships and club/project work apply
• Experience with RF, high pin density components, and modern passive/active electronics is preferred
• Experience with MIL-STD, IPC standards and layout constraints

Responsibilities

• Determine layer stackup, component placement, routing feasibility studies, and signal routing of digital, analog, RF, and power conversion of PCBs
• Library creation and maintenance
• Create and release documentation for fabrication of PCBs
• Collaborate with internal teams and PCB vendors to improve design rules and DFx guidelines
• Utilize PCB design tools, evaluate new tools, and train team members to use tools
