Job summary

E-Space in Saratoga, CA seeks a hands-on PCB Design Engineer to own the full PCB lifecycle from concept to fabrication. You will design high-layer-count, digital and mixed-signal boards in Altium Designer, ensuring signal integrity, PDN quality, and robust grounding.

Collaborate with FPGA, firmware, and mechanical teams to meet tight deadlines and NPI goals. Ideal candidates have deep hardware fundamentals, EMI/EMC expertise, and experience with DDR4/5, PCIe, and FPGA-based architectures.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience with advanced PCB layout and schematic capture in Altium Designer.
• Experience designing high-layer-count (6+) digital/mixed-signal boards.
• Deep understanding of stack-up, high-speed routing, differential pairs and impedance control.
• Strong EMI/EMC-aware layout and power distribution knowledge.
• Familiar with fabrication processes, assembly constraints and DFM guidelines.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple revisions under deadlines.
• Experience routing DDR4/5, PCIe, JESD204, Ethernet or multi-gigabit links.
• Experience with FPGA-based architectures and complex pin constraints.
• Knowledge of thermal management and enclosure integration.
• Exposure to embedded systems architecture and localized DC-DC power layouts.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Design Ownership: from concept and schematic capture through layout and manufacturing release.
• Altium Execution: develop and maintain complex multi-layer PCB layouts and schematics.
• Signal & Power Integrity: design high-layer-count boards with proper PDN and grounding.
• Documentation & NPI: create fabrication/assembly packages, BOMs, and drawings.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: work with hardware, FPGA, firmware, and mechanical teams.
• Vendor Management: coordinate with fabrication/assembly vendors to resolve DFM/DFT issues.
• Library & Revisions: manage ECAD library, component selection, and board bring-up.
