Job summary

Omega Electronics Manufacturing Services in San Jose, CA is seeking an AOI Programmer & Operator to program, optimize, maintain, and operate AOI inspection systems in a high-mix PCB assembly environment. You will write and debug AOI programs (Koh Young), adjust inspection parameters, support NPI by using CAD/ Gerber data, and ensure IPC‑A‑610 compliance while improving throughput and quality.

This role requires 2–3+ years’ AOI experience, strong attention to detail, and ability to work

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2–3+ years of experience operating and programming AOI inspection systems in a PCBA environment.
• Hands-on experience writing and debugging AOI inspection programs.
• Working knowledge of IPC‑A‑610 standards (Class 2 and/or Class 3 preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, BOMs, and technical work instructions.
• Strong attention to detail with sound judgment in defect classification.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with computers and ability to learn new software systems (e.g., MES, PCB inspection software).
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Create, debug, optimize, and maintain AOI inspection programs for new and existing PCB assemblies.
• Write AOI programs using platform-specific software (Koh Young).
• Fine-tune inspection parameters to minimize false calls while maintaining defect detection sensitivity.
• Support NPI builds by creating inspection programs from CAD, Gerber, BOM, assembly drawings, and customer documentation.
• Maintain and update inspection libraries, component databases, golden boards, and revision-controlled programs.
• Document program logic, revisions, and releases per document control and quality system requirements.
• Inform Engineering or Management of potential quality or inspection issues prior to production release.
