Job summary

MercyOne Health System seeks a Part-time Patient Care Assistant for day shift. You will work with the health care team to provide outcome-based patient care, observe patient responses to interventions, and report progress while adhering to MercyOne's mission and values.

The role requires 0.6 FTE (24 hours/week) with weekend and holiday rotation. Education includes Nurse Aide or TNAP certificates and English communication ability.

Qualifications

• Verification (by transcript or certification) of successful completion of one of the listed courses or programs.
• Successful completion of the Trinity Nursing Assistant Program (TNAP) or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and understand English and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Supports the team in identifying patient needs and implementing the outcome/goal-based plan of care.
• Assists the patient care team in the delivery of care.
• Communicates relevant clinical information to others to optimize patient outcomes/goals.

As a Patient Care Assistant at MercyOne, you will work collaboratively with the health care team to provide outcome/goal-based patient care. Observes and reports the patient’s response and progress to interventions. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of MercyOne.

Education

• Successful completion of the Trinity Nursing Assistant Program (TNAP)
• Successful completion of the Competency Test, Iowa Emergency Medical Technician Certification
• Nurse Aide II - Advanced Course is preferred and may be provided post-hire.
• Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties.
