Job summary

Sapphire Ridge is part of the Ascent Healthcare Management family and is seeking Patient Care Assistants to support activities, companionship, and daily care in a beautiful Skilled Nursing Memory Care Unit. We offer daily pay and a collaborative, resident-centered culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to communicate at all levels of organization and work well in a team.
• Customer service oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Make unoccupied beds.
• Assist with activities and occupying residents' time with care.
• On the job training related to dementia and care of residents with Alzheimer's and Dementia.
• Clean resident equipment.
• Clean residents’ personal care and grooming items.
• Maintain residents’ closets, bedside stands, drawers, and closets in a clean, orderly and odor free manner.
• Label clothing and belongings.
• Complete admission inventory of clothing and belongings.
• Distribute personal laundry.
• Monitor and replenish resident care articles.
• Answer call lights and provide non-care giving tasks.

What you will do:

• Make unoccupied beds.
• Assist with activities and occupying the resident's time with innovative approaches to care.
• On the job training as it relates to dementia and care of residents who have Alzheimer's and Dementia.
• Clean resident equipment.
• Clean resident’s personal care and grooming items.
• Maintain residents’ closets, bedside stands, drawers, and closets in a clean, orderly and odor free manner.
• Label clothing and belongings.
• Complete admission inventory of clothing and belongings.
• Distribute personal laundry.
• Monitor and replenish resident care articles.
• Answer call lights and provide non-care giving tasks; i.e. change TV, open windows, adjust articles within residents’ reach, relay requests for actual care assistance to nursing staff, transport residents to meals, activities, care conferences, assist with passing trays in the dining room and to residents who do not require feeding assistance.
