Job summary

Compass Home Health & Rehab is seeking caring Personal Care Assistants (PCA) or Home Health Aides to join our team for 2nd shift after 4 PM near Pittston, PA. These roles offer flexible, variable hours with competitive pay up to $15.50 per hour and comprehensive benefits.

As part of the home care team, you will support patients with daily living activities, hygiene, meal prep, transportation, and light care under supervision of a registered nurse, promoting safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
• Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
• Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired.
• Demonstrates patience and good personal hygiene.
• Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with Organization requirements and is in good working order.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoo.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals.
• Assist in feeding the patient, if necessary.
• Assist in ambulation and exercise according to the plan of care.
• Perform range of motion and other simple procedures as order requires.

Job Description Summary

The PCA or home health aide is a paraprofessional member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the patient’s needs. The home health aide or PCA is responsible for observing patients, reporting these observations and documenting observations and care performed.The home health aide or PCA will be assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of a patient’s care.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

1. 1.Providing personal care including:
2. A.Baths, Back Rubs, Oral Hygiene, Shampoo
3. B.Changing bed linens
4. C.Assisting patients with dressing and undressing
5. D.Skin care to prevent breakdown
6. E.Assisting the patient with toileting activities
7. F.Keeping patient’s living area clean and orderly, as appropriate
8. 2.Planning and preparing nutritious meals.
9. 3.Assisting in feeding the patient, if necessary.
10. 4. Assisting in ambulation and exercise according to the plan of care
11. 5.Performing range of motion and other simple procedures as anextensional therapy service as ordered (with appropriate completed/demonstrated skills competency).
12. 6.Assisting patient in the self-administration of medication.
13. 7.Doing patient’s laundry, as appropriate.
14. 8.Meeting safety needs of patients and using equipment safely andproperly (foot stools,side rails, etc.).
15. 9.Reporting on patient’s condition and significant changes to the assignedclinical care coordinator.
16. 10. Adhering to the Organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.
