Job summary

Cullman Regional Medical Center in Cullman, AL seeks a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for PRN shifts. You will assist with basic patient care under RN/LPN supervision, including checking vital signs, grooming, and helping patients with mobility and meals.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or equivalent), CNA/BLS certification, and good interpersonal and communication skills to support safe and respectful patient care.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

• Assume responsibility for certain technical aspects of patient care as directed by the RN/LPN to include checking vital signs and blood glucose levels, assisting with grooming activities including bathing, hair washing and brushing.
• Change and clean patients with incontinence garments and bedpans.
• Assist patients walking, getting out of bed, changing clothing, and eating.
• Transport patients to other areas of the hospital for testing or procedure(s).
• Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
• Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.

QualificationsEducation:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Successful graduation and certification from accredited patient care assistant program or certified nursing assistant program required. Must be BLS certified.

Experience:

• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
• Knowledge of basic patient care methods, procedures and techniques required.
