Job summary

Smoky Ridge Health and Rehabilitation is seeking compassionate and dependable Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to provide hands-on care alongside a certified nursing aide and support to our residents in a long-term care setting. The PCA will assist with daily living activities, promote dignity, comfort, and independence, and help ensure a safe, clean environment.

You will observe residents, report changes to nursing staff, offer companionship, and document care in Point Click Care while

Qualifications

• Must currently be active in a C.N.A. class or have completed the CNA class and awaiting testing for certification.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, compassionate, and committed to quality care.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Provide assistance with eating meals as needed.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive environment for residents.
• Observe residents and report changes in condition to nursing staff.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to residents.
• Maintain resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
• Follow infection control, safety, and facility procedures.
• Document services provided electronically with Point Click Care.
• Participate in training, meetings, and in-service programs as required.

The PCA plays a vital role in helping residents with daily needs while promoting dignity, comfort, and independence in a long‑term care setting. REQUIREMENT: Must currently be active in a C.N.A. class with check offs completed or have completed the C.N.A. class and awaiting to take written/skills portion of testing for obtaining certificate to be considered for a PCA position

Key Responsibilities alongside a C.N.A.:

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
