Job Description The Painter I is responsible for applying paint and coatings to manufactured products to ensure a high-quality, durable finish that meets production and quality standards. This role supports production objectives by preparing surfaces, selecting and applying coatings, and ensuring consistent results across products. The Painter I works closely with production teams to maintain workflow efficiency and meet scheduled deadlines. This position also plays a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment while adhering to all safety and environmental guidelines.

Primary Duties
  • Prepare product surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and repairing imperfections to ensure proper coating adhesion and finish quality.
  • Apply paint and coatings using appropriate techniques to achieve smooth, even, and consistent results that meet quality standards.
  • Select and mix coatings according to specifications to ensure correct color, texture, and consistency.
  • Inspect completed work for defects and perform touch-ups or rework as necessary to meet established standards.
  • Maintain painting equipment and work areas to ensure proper functionality, cleanliness, and safety compliance.
  • Follow established safety procedures while handling materials and equipment to minimize risk and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to maintain workflow efficiency and meet production goals.
  • Maintain records related to materials usage, work performed, and quality checks.
  • Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Mask and protect surfaces not intended for coating.
  • Monitor environmental conditions to support proper application and curing of coatings.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report maintenance needs.
  • Dispose of materials in accordance with environmental and safety guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • 0+ years of experience in a manufacturing or painting environment, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Painting or industrial coating experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to follow instructions and standardized procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of safety practices and proper material handling.
  • Effective communication skills.
Essential And Physical Functions
  • Frequent standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Use of fine and gross motor skills for painting tasks and equipment handling.
  • Visual acuity to identify defects and ensure coating quality.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment for extended periods.
Work Environment
  • Perform all tasks on-site in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and varying temperature conditions.
  • Work around moving mechanical parts and equipment.
  • Exposure to moderate to high noise levels.
  • Compliance with all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Regular interaction with production and operations teams.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
