Job Summary and Qualifications

• Promptly answers all incoming calls and assists with outgoing calls.
• Responds to alarms (code phone, code computer, wall panel) and notifies appropriate personnel, prioritizing fire alarms.
• Monitors fire panels, wall alarms, and paging systems, contacting fire department when needed.
• Pages authorized personnel, physicians, and emergency calls.
• Places long-distance calls for departments and doctors' offices.
• Assists patients with call placements and answers patient information calls.
• Documents vital information for PBX operations.
• Performs overhead paging and other related duties.

Qualifications

Experience

• Required: 2 years switchboard experience.
• Preferred: 5+ years experience as an operator.

Education

• Required: High school diploma.
• Preferred: Graduate with switchboard experience; medical terminology is a plus.
