JOB SUMMARY:
Operates switchboard and paging system under the guidelines established by the department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Processes all calls generated through the switchboard.
2. Pages physicians and employees.
3. Acts as the receptionist at the switchboard.
4. Maintains a list of telephone numbers for on-call personnel as well as their hospital extensions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent - Preferred

Required Skills:
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Minimum Work Experience:
Minimum of 2 years PBX experience displaying an even temperament. Prior supervisory experience desirable.
