Job summary

Viceroy Hotels in Santa Monica is seeking a PBX Attendant to handle incoming and outgoing calls in line with Viceroy Santa Monica standards. You will support guest communications and coordinate wake-up calls to ensure a seamless stay.

The role requires strong verbal communication, a service mindset, and the ability to multitask across multiple front-office interfaces. This is a full-time, on-site position offering a collaborative luxury-hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred.
• 2 years previous experience in a similar position in a luxury hotel preferred
• Experience with hotel PBX or guest services helpful

Overview

The PBX Attendant is responsible for answering incoming and outgoing calls using the Viceroy Santa Monica standards

Responsibilities

General Responsibilities Include:

• Answer incoming and outgoing calls
• Process wake-up calls for guests
• Communicate effectively with all business contacts
• Operate a console and all peripheral equipment
• Work with our property management system H.I.S, and other interfaces as required
• Collaborate with the Concierge, Front Desk, Reservations, Food & Beverage, Engineering, and Housekeeping team to ensure a satisfactory experience for all guests
• Display a friendly, courteous, and professional demeanor in all interactions with guests, patrons, and other colleagues

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit at a desk, walk, and stand for up to four (4) hours
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch
• Must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull up to 25 lbs.
• Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity

Qualification Standards:

Education: College degree preferred.

Experience: 2 years previous experience in a similar position in a luxury hotel preferred

Licenses or Certificates: none

Grooming: All colleagues must maintain a neat, and well groomed appearance (specific standards will be provided)
