Job summary

Three Crosses Regional Hospital in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a PBX Operator to connect, hold, transfer and disconnect calls, while supporting a patient-centered culture. You will determine the nature of inquiries and provide general information, handle issues professionally, and communicate pertinent data for hospital operations.

The role requires knowledge of switchboards and phone systems, a high school diploma or GED, and availability for an 8-hour shift between 5am–4pm on weekdays.

Responsibilities

• Operate telephone switchboards and consoles to connect, hold, transfer and disconnect telephone calls.

• Handle problem situations in a professional manner and adequately communicates pertinent information so an overall work environment is created that lends itself to the best interest of the Hospital department personnel.
• Provide external connections for staff and answer internal queries directed to the switchboard.
• Provide connections to the police, ambulance, or fire department when emergencies are reported.
