Job summary

Sugar Creek Charter is seeking a PBL Science Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on engaging middle school students through project-based learning and diverse instructional strategies.

The teacher will assess progress with regular formative and summative assessments, provide real-time feedback, and maintain strong communication with families and staff to support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years teaching middle school preferred.
• Strong communication skills, reliable, coachable.
• Passion for teaching and learning.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students using a variety of effective teaching strategies such as gradual release, scaffolding, differentiation, and small group instruction.
• Assess students' progress using daily formative assessments, weekly/bi-weekly summative assessments, and quarterly benchmarks.
• Use assessment data to provide real time feedback during classroom instruction.
• Follow and implement the school wide behavior plan.
• Communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students, parents, staff members, and other stakeholders.
