Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking a skilled medical coder to accurately code CPT and ICD-10 for physician services across multiple locations. You will review physician documentation in the EMR for completeness and accuracy, and provide feedback on discrepancies to improve coding quality.

You will handle coding for ER, inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory surgery, and other services, addressing edits and denials to support billing processes and ensure proper reimbursement.

Qualifications

  • Proficient CPT coding and ICD-10 coding for physician services.
  • Ability to review physician documentation in the EMR for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide physician feedback on discrepancies/trends to improve coding accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Code CPT and ICD-10 for all places of service (ER, inpatient, outpatient, etc.).
  • Review physician documentation and translate into accurate codes.
  • Analyze edits/denials and resolve coding issues to facilitate billing.
  • Release encounters for billing and ensure timely submission.

Job Summary

Responsible for coding and abstracting procedural (CPT) and diagnosis codes (ICD-10) for physician services, reviewing physician documentation in the electronic medical record for completeness and accuracy to ensure proper code assignment, providing physician feedback of discrepancies/trends, resolving edits and denials, and releasing encounters for billing. Utilizes intermediate problem-solving skills to address coding related tasks of detailed, medium complexity. Duties include procedural (CPT) and diagnosis (ICD-10) coding for all places of service, including, but not limited to ER, observation, inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory surgery, and other ancillary services. Responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting physician documentation, CPT and diagnosis coding, charge entry, coding claim edit, and coding denial management for coding related tasks.
