Job summary

Beacon Hill Staffing Group in Portland, OR seeks an experienced Payroll Consultant to evaluate and redesign payroll processes, driving standardization, automation, and scalability across the organization.

You will partner with payroll, HR, finance, operations, and technology to move recommended changes from concept through implementation, and to establish stronger controls and audit trails in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive payroll experience preferred.
• Experience supporting complex, multi-entity or multi-location payroll operations.
• Experience assessing payroll processes and designing a standardized, scalable future state.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• The ability to work independently, think strategically, dig into the details, and challenge outdated processes.

Responsibilities

• Assessing current payroll processes, workflows, systems, and controls
• Identifying inefficiencies, inconsistencies, and manual processes
• Developing a standardized and scalable payroll operating model
• Recommending opportunities for automation and system improvements
• Designing stronger workflows, approvals, controls, and audit trails
• Creating clear process documentation and standard operating procedures
• Partnering with payroll, HR, finance, operations, and technology stakeholders
• Helping move recommendations from concept through implementation
