Abbott Park, Illinois-based payroll tax specialist role focusing on backend payroll tax processing and multi-state tax handling. 4-month contract with possibility of contract-to-hire, onsite only.

Ideal candidates have strong payroll tax experience and familiarity with tax notices and tax providers. Candidate should be proficient in Excel, meticulous with details, and able to communicate clearly with internal teams and external tax vendors.

Qualifications

• High school with payroll tax experience
• Solid foundation of payroll taxes - federal, state & FICA taxes
• Tax filing experience - payroll tax filing
• Project experience - testing
• HS diploma
• Payroll experience
• Internal tickets & communication with outside tax vendors

Responsibilities

• Backend payroll tasks or post-payroll tax processing
• Strong payroll tax processing experience required
• Work with state agencies and tax providers
• Handle tax notices and third-party authorizations
• Ensure accuracy across multi-state payroll taxes
