Job summary

Abbott Park, IL location within the CHR Corporate Human Resources division is seeking a Payroll Tax Associate II to ensure accurate processing, reconciliation, and compliance of payroll taxes after payroll execution. This role focuses on federal, state, and local tax filings and coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 1+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a large corporate environment.
• Knowledge of U.S. payroll laws and regulations
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct State Unemployment Insurance rate reviews and apply updates across jurisdictions.
• Review, research, and resolve payroll tax notices with authorities to ensure compliance.
• Manage employee-facing payroll tax inquiries with timely, accurate responses.
• Process and resolve W-2C requests ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
• Identify and resolve payroll tax fallouts, discrepancies, and system errors.
• Support quarter-end and year-end payroll tax activities and reconciliations.
