Oversee administration of tax filings and notice resolution with government tax agencies. Work across Tax Filing Shared Services to mitigate escalations. Respond to Client and Client Team inquiries.
As Tax Filing Senior Analyst duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Educate clients and provide subject matter expertise for payroll tax filing and notice resolution
• Support and provide timely research on compliance and regulatory issues.
• Recognize need for process improvement and communicate to management; Support any process improvements/changes
• Meet periodically with Operation Services Manager and report metrics and any delivery issues
• Support implementation of new clients
• Support and oversee delivery operations, including Tax Filing suppliers.
• Compile, report and analyze metrics
• Ability to problem solve and using tax knowledge and experience
• Responsible for calculation P&I and abatement letter request
• Research and resolve payroll tax notices in a timely manner, including abatement requests, calculation of Penalty and Interest, and identification of root cause and prevention measures
• Mentor and support colleagues
• Manage Tax Filing suppliers, as appropriate, to support accurate and timely delivery.
• Coordinate testing for updated interfaces
• Variance analysis control point when issue needs escalation or analysis
• Communicates effectively with the client and internal partners regarding ongoing operations and problem solving with analysis/resolution of tax related issues
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Understanding and applying knowledge of payroll tax to notice resolution and process improvements
Education and Experience
• High School Diploma and 3 years' experience in tax filing
• Demonstrated strong verbal & written communication skills required
• 2+ Years of Payroll Tax Filing experience
• 2+ Years client interaction and management
• 2+ years’ experience with tax filing software required
• Master Tax experience highly preferred
