Job summary

Alterra Mountain Company, headquartered in Denver, seeks a Payroll Systems Analyst to support Workday HR/Payroll and related systems for a fast-paced, seasonal environment. You will assist in day-to-day payroll operations, testing, reporting, and cross-location support across the U.S. and Canada.

This role requires 3–5 years of payroll experience, strong Workday knowledge, and a collaborative, analytical mindset. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement in Denver with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of payroll professional experience.
• 2+ years of Workday/other payroll application payroll end user support.
• Payroll, HR implementation experience.
• Experience working in multi-state, multi-entity payroll environment.
• Full understanding of payroll withholding tax guidelines and requirements.
• Strong working knowledge of payroll laws and processes.
• Strong business analysis experience, including requirements gathering, testing, documentation, etc.
• Demonstrated competency in documenting solutions for both technical and functional audiences.

Responsibilities

• Participate in Workday HR/Payroll and Finance support and enhancements.
• Work with internal teams and vendor consultants to support Workday and payroll applications.
• Support day-to-day operational needs of the Global Payroll Workday environment.
• Support Bi-Weekly payrolls and post-settlement processes.
• Run payroll reports and maintain the Payroll Runbook.
• Create and modify reports, analytics, and dashboards for payroll management.
• Assist in testing Workday major releases and communicate impacts to users.
• Monitor integrations to outside systems in production.
• Coordinate EIB data uploads for mass data entry.
• Provide training to Timekeepers and escalate issues as needed.
