Nelson Connects is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Supervisor/Manager (Contract) in Napa, CA, with hybrid work arrangement (2 days in office). You will support U.S. payroll operations for about 850 employees, ensure accurate processing, maintain controls, and drive process improvements.

The role requires 3+ years in payroll, SAP skills, and strong knowledge of payroll regulations; ADP GlobalView is a plus. You will collaborate with stakeholders and prepare reports for management.

• 3+ years of experience in payroll processing or a similar payroll specialist role.
• Hands-on SAP experience; ADP GlobalView experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel, payroll systems, databases, and timekeeping platforms.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, tax requirements, and regulations.
• Attention to detail, organizational skills, and numerical accuracy.
• Clear written and verbal communication with a customer-focused approach.
• Experience improving payroll processes and internal controls.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and adapt to changing requirements.

Responsabilités

• Gather and validate timekeeping data and calculate wages, overtime, deductions, taxes, and benefits.
• Process payroll payments and distribute pay statements.
• Maintain payroll records, compensation rates, and new-hire information.
• Respond to employee and manager payroll inquiries through ServiceNow.
• Ensure compliance with payroll laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain and strengthen payroll controls, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
• Develop and update SOPs and process maps.
• Obtain approvals and scale payroll discrepancies or processing issues.
• Prepare payroll reports for management and finance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and manage priorities.

Payroll Supervisor / Manager (Contract)

Napa, CA – Hybrid (2 days/wk in office)

You are a detail-oriented Payroll Supervisor/Manager to support U.S. payroll operations for approximately 850 exempt and non-exempt employees, primarily in California. This role will ensure accurate, compliant payroll processing, maintain effective controls, resolve payroll inquiries, and drive continuous improvement through updated procedures and streamlined processes.

This position pays:$55.00 to $58.00 per hour

What you will be doing:

• Gather and validate employee
  timekeeping data and calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, deductions,
  taxes, and benefits.
• Process payroll payments and
  distribute electronic or paper pay statements.
• Maintain accurate payroll
  records, compensation rates, and new-hire information.
• Respond to employee and manager
  payroll inquiries through ServiceNow.
• Ensure compliance with applicable
  payroll laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain and strengthen payroll
  controls, identify gaps, and recommend process improvements.
• Develop and update standard
  operating procedures (SOPs) and process maps.
• Obtain required management
  approvals and scale payroll discrepancies or processing issues.
• Prepare payroll reports for
  management and finance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to
  resolve issues, manage competing priorities, and maintain effective
  payroll operations.

What you bring:

• 3+ years of experience in payroll processing or a similar payroll specialist role.
• Required hands-on SAP experience; ADP GlobalView experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, payroll systems, databases, and timekeeping platforms.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, tax requirements, and applicable employment regulations.
