LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a respected nonprofit organization serving communities throughout New York to identify a Payroll Supervisor.
The Payroll Supervisor will oversee all payroll operations, ensuring employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role will supervise a small payroll team, collaborate closely with Human Resources, and support payroll reporting, audits, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle payroll process utilizing ADP Lyric and ADP Workforce, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop two Payroll Coordinators while overseeing daily payroll operations.
- Serve as a key point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, providing exceptional customer service and issue resolution.
- Maintain payroll system data, including employee information, earnings, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.
- Partner with Human Resources to ensure payroll-related employee changes are processed accurately and timely.
- Prepare recurring payroll reports, reconcile payroll accounts, and conduct payroll audits.
- Review wage and tax data for accuracy and compliance throughout the calendar year.
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and statutory reporting requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing payroll documentation and reporting.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information.
- Stay informed of payroll legislation, industry best practices, and process improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably using ADP
- Strong understanding of payroll processing, payroll taxes, and federal, state, and local compliance requirements.
- Prior supervisory experience, including coaching and developing team members.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Nonprofit and/or multi-location payroll experience is highly preferred.
