Job summary

800 OKLA. CAREER AND TECHNOLOGY EDUCATION seeks a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate and timely employee compensation. The role supports payroll processing, deductions, and related records, coordinating with the HR team to maintain precise data in the system.

The position is full-time in Stillwater, OK, with FLSA Exempt status and a payband 11, offering benefits including retirement, insurance, and leave. Applicants should have payroll/finance experience and a bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years technical experience in payroll, finance, or accounting and financial spreadsheets.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and process payroll information; resolve payroll problems and discrepancies; calculate and process special payrolls; update and maintain salary records.
• Prepare payroll deductions, direct deposit changes, retirement forms, FICA, workers’ compensation, unemployment, and garnishments; coordinate with HR Generalists to ensure records are accurate in WorkDay.
• Prepare payroll funding correction forms from monthly Time and Effort reports; submit for approvals and communicate approved forms to OMES; complete retirement spreadsheets as needed.
• Collaborate with Systems and CORE to generate requested reports.
• Assist employees with self-service payroll questions and exit processes including W-4 and leave payouts.
