Job summary

Argonne National Laboratory is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support daily payroll activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with DOE regulations and FMPS policies. You will assist with bi-weekly and monthly payroll processing, data validation, and record maintenance.

You will interact with employees and internal customers, respond to inquiries, and help generate standard payroll reports while upholding confidentiality and security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience.
• 0+ years of payroll experience or equivalent
• Proficient with Windows OS and Microsoft Office
• Strong numerical, organizational and time management skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Responsibilities

• Assist with bi-weekly and monthly payroll activities including data review, timecard validation and rate verification.
• Respond to payroll inquiries and tickets, processing service requests.
• Maintain and update employee records and standard reports.
• Collaborate with Human Resources, Legal and Accounting as needed.
