RRM Design Group, an employee-owned multidiscipline design firm, seeks a full-time Payroll Specialist to join the accounting team in California. You’ll manage payroll across states, ensure compliance, and collaborate with the Controller to grow into more technical roles.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years of payroll experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to analyze issues and implement solutions.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for a multi-state company for exempt and non-exempt employees.
• Handle prevailing wage payroll and related compliance paperwork.
• Review timecards for accuracy and required approvals.
• Stay up to date on payroll laws, including prevailing wage.
• Maintain payroll and timekeeping policy knowledge.
• Reconcile payroll records with accounting and third-party systems.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual payroll reports.
• Ensure payroll reporting complies with state and federal laws.
