Job summary

RRM Design Group, an employee-owned firm on California’s coast, is seeking a full-time Payroll Specialist to join the Accounting team. You will process multi-state payroll, ensure compliance, and collaborate with the Controller to optimize procedures.

The role requires strong Excel skills, 4+ years of experience, and knowledge of prevailing wage and Paylocity. This on-site position offers growth opportunities and a collaborative culture at RRM.

Qualifications

• Minimum four (4) years of experience.
• Associates Degree in Accounting.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to quickly analyze problems and respond with effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Accurately processing payroll for multi-state company for exempt and non-exempt employees.
• Processing prevailing wage payroll and related compliance paperwork.
• Reviewing timecards for accuracy and required approvals.
• Staying up to date on all payroll laws, including prevailing wage.
• Keeping up to date on all RRM policies that concern payroll and timekeeping.
• Reconciling all payroll records with accounting system and corresponding third party systems.
• Monthly/quarterly/annual reporting regarding employees and payroll.
• Responsible for payroll reporting in compliance with state and federal laws.
