Valeris seeks a meticulous Payroll Specialist to accurately process payroll, maintain records, and ensure regulatory compliance across multi-state operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or related role.
• Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Workday a plus.
• Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the end-to-end payroll process for a 3000+ employee organization in a fast-growing company with multi-state operations
• Improving the performance of various payroll processes throughout our organization
• Performing payroll-related functions including but not limited to: processing new hires, termination status changes, tax changes, wage garnishments, deductions, direct deposit changes, audits, 401(k) administration
• Implementing, maintaining, and reviewing payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, and other deductions
• Maintaining the HR Helpdesk tickets relating to payroll related questions
• Reconciling payroll discrepancies and resolving any issues that arise
• Generating payroll reports for management and accounting purposes
• Maintaining confidentiality of payroll information and sensitive employee data
• Remaining informed about changes in payroll regulations and best practices
• Assisting with multi-state tax registrations, renewals, and processing of tax notices, as well as ensuring proper tax set-up of employees
• Performing research on new/existing state taxing authorities as needed, along with collaborating with other departments to ensure the execution of deliverables within the organization
• Other duties as assigned.
