Job summary

First Montgomery Group is seeking a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate, on-time payroll processing for employees across our corporate office and multifamily properties. You will collaborate with Accounting, HR, and property managers to ensure each payroll record is compliant and well-documented.

You will manage benefits deductions, 401(k) contributions, and cross-property allocations while supporting month-end close and quarterly/year-end reporting.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of payroll experience, preferably multi-entity or multi-location.
• Knowledge of federal and New Jersey payroll tax and wage/hour rules; PA/DE a plus.
• Experience with Paychex Flex or similar payroll platform.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly payroll for corporate and site-level employees across multiple properties and entities.
• Verify timekeeping data (hourly, overtime, on-call, maintenance) and resolve discrepancies with supervisors.
• Maintain payroll records: new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, deductions, garnishments, direct deposits.
