Cheney Public School District 360 is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join the Business Office in Cheney, WA. This year-round, non-represented classified position supports a comprehensive payroll program and collaborates with district staff to ensure accurate processing.

The role requires strong knowledge of payroll processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work beyond standard hours as needed; compensation is $72,813 to $85,919 per year, with benefits including medical, dental, vision

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and related work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent college coursework in a business or finance related field.
• Prior payroll and/or accounting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform payroll functions including timesheets, absence reporting, retirement and benefits.
• Enter and maintain employee data in Skyward; prepare custom reports for admins.
• Process payroll/HR documents and verifications for information to employees.
• Verify and balance payments before and after processing.
• Administer sick, personal, vacation leave and buybacks.
• Prepare and report personnel data and budget data.
• Provide estimates to employees regarding salaries and benefits.
