Job summary

Resorts World NYC is seeking a payroll professional responsible for processing the weekly payroll cycle for all company payrolls and related tasks.

The role handles deductions, tax reporting, garnishments, check distribution, and payroll reconciliations, with emphasis on accuracy and compliance with NY regulations.

Candidates should have an Associate’s Degree and at least one year payroll experience, plus proficiency with Ultimate Software and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 year payroll experience.
• Associate’s Degree in related field required.
• Experience with Ultimate Software payroll system preferred.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills essential.
• Excellent math aptitude and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares production of payrolls, including deductions for withholding tax, social security, health insurance, life insurance, and such other required salary deductions.
• Assists with federal and state tax reporting requirements; including quarterly payroll reports, annual earnings (W-2s), withholding tax, and other reporting.
• Reviews payroll groups for accuracy and corrects errors before processing payroll.
• Enter and maintain a variety of employee payroll deductions using manual and automated systems.
• Oversee all mandatory wage garnishments for employees.
• Responds to inquiries concerning wage garnishments and earnings verifications.
• Distribute payroll checks.
• Assist with payroll tax reconciliations.
• Responsible for the execution of printing payroll checks.
• File employee payroll deductions, benefits information, and periodic reports.
• Sets calendar for district payrolls including pay dates and processing schedules.
• Calculates changes in contract amounts and payouts for accrued sick and vacation leave.
• Ensure compliance with all union contracts.
• Other duties as assigned.
