Job description

Position Summary/Objective
The Payroll Specialist I will be responsible for providing managed payroll administration services and Workday payroll processing support to a book of clients. The role includes managing multiple projects with various deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This position supports both specific named customers and all customers across service levels as deemed necessary. Responsibilities also include Workday payroll configuration and year-end support.

Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities

  • Act as the designated Specialist for Payroll Administrative customers and support other OSV payroll, tax, and garnishment customers as needed.
  • Manage and respond to cases daily to meet service level agreements and ensure high client satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot quarter and year-end audit reports and provide recommendations to customers.
  • Meet quality and production metrics and scorecards.
  • Collaborate with peers and customer teams to support and resolve requests.
  • Maintain a willingness to work towards improvements, embrace new ideas, and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Associate degree or higher (preferred).
  • At least 3 years of payroll experience involving end-to-end processing, research, payroll logic, and troubleshooting.
  • One year of experience with taxes at Federal, State, and local levels.
  • One year of garnishment processing experience and understanding of garnishment procedures.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience with year-end payroll processes and W2 reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in an outsourcing environment, including payroll, tax, Workday, and Salesforce programs.
