Job summary

Savannah Technical College is seeking a Payroll Specialist to coordinate payroll operations, benefits, and related accounting functions with accuracy and timeliness.

Responsibilities include processing payroll data, reconciling records, and serving as the primary contact with ADP for tax remittance, while ensuring compliance with GAAP and state regulations. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and three (3) years of payroll or related accounting experience.
• Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
• Preferred qualifications include Workday Accounting System experience and prior State of Georgia payroll experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews payroll data for accuracy and enters payroll transactions into the accounting system.
• Reconciles payroll records and corrects discrepancies.
• Analyzes reports and confirms accuracy of benefit and tax data with related records.
• Coordinates with ADP for tax remittance and reporting, including out-of-state matters.
• Maintains payroll records in accordance with policies and GAAP.
