Steel Dynamics, Inc. – Steel of West Virginia division is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage weekly payroll for 700+ employees.

You will ensure accurate compensation and timely processing, while supporting journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting using UKG and Excel. You will collaborate with management, maintain confidentiality of payroll data, and help ensure compliance with company policies and Sarbanes-Oxley controls.

Qualifications

• At least a 4-year degree in accounting or business (or related experience).
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
• Compliance with policies and procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
• Experience processing payroll for a large workforce is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Manage and process payroll weekly for 700+ employees.
• Communicate with management and employees regarding pay and benefits.
• Prepare and analyze reports in UKG payroll software and Excel.
• Process voluntary and involuntary deductions (levies and garnishments).
• Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
• Prepare, post, and analyze journal entries; reconcile general and subledger accounts.
• Maintain accounting controls in line with company policies and SOX compliance.
• Support accounting functions as needed; handle special projects and other duties.
