Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end US payroll processing with a focus on accuracy and regulatory compliance. You will work with Workday and ADP GlobalView, handling weekly and semi-monthly cycles, off-cycle payments, and audits.

The role requires a proactive collaborator who can partner with leadership, HR, and Finance in a fast-paced environment, ensuring data integrity and timely reporting while staying current on federal and state payroll regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or HR or related field.
• 5+ years of solid payroll processing experience.
• CPP designation is highly preferred; not required.
• Deep knowledge of US federal and state payroll regulations and multi-state tax rules.

Responsibilities

• Payroll Execution: Run weekly and semi-monthly payrolls, including off-cycle runs, ensuring timesheet accuracy.
• System Integration: Manage data flow between Workday and ADP GlobalView.
• Leadership Collaboration: Partner with leadership, HR, and Finance on payroll data and goals.
• Vendor Management: Oversee ADP performance and implement pre-payroll improvements.
• Data Integrity: Maintain records for hires, terminations, leaves, promotions, and salary changes.
• Compliance & Auditing: Ensure compliance with payroll laws; conduct audits and resolve discrepancies.
• Deductions: Review garnishments and related orders.
• Calculations: Verify prorations and mid-period retro pay calculations.
• Reporting: Prepare payroll reports and assist with W-2 processing and year-end filings.
