Job summary

Los Angeles LGBT Center is seeking a Payroll Specialist to handle accurate, timely payroll processing for all staff on the AMR Campus in Los Angeles. You will verify timesheets, process adjustments, and manage benefit deductions in collaboration with People & Culture and Finance.

The role requires strong attention to detail, familiarity with California payroll laws, and a commitment to serving a diverse workforce.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS and payroll software systems; knowledge of California payroll laws and regulations.
• Familiarity with issues relevant to the LGBTQ community is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process semi-monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Review and verify timesheets, attendance records, and other payroll-related data for completeness and correctness.
• Coordinate with People & Culture to process new hires, terminations, and employment status changes.
