Job summary

Ellsworth Adhesives is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Germantown, WI headquarters. This on-site/hybrid role oversees end-to-end payroll processes, tax reporting, and benefits with a focus on accuracy and regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with HR, Finance, IT and external vendors, ensuring timely payroll and accurate reporting while maintaining confidentiality and high service levels.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Payroll function (as stated)
• 2+ years in an Accounting related function a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• FPC or CPP preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll/HRIS systems

Responsibilities

• Processes payroll for all employees in assigned Business Units and/or Corporate.
• Prepares, reviews and reconciles payroll reports for internal and external groups.
• Files, processes and maintains employee payroll records.
• Responds to inquiries from employees, managers and other departments to resolve payroll and time-keeping issues.
• Investigates and resolves discrepancies in payroll data with other departments.
• Creates and analyzes payroll reports for management identifying trends and potential issues.

This role processes payroll, including maintaining related records, filing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports for assigned employees. It also prepares, analyzes and submits various payroll, tax and benefits withholding reports and supports payroll compliance efforts by staying current on federal and state payroll regulations and implementing any necessary payroll process changes.

• Processes payroll for all employees in assigned Business Units and/or Corporate in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles
• Prepares, reviews and reconciles payroll reports to ensure accurate and timely processing and reporting for internal and external groups
• File, process and maintain employee payroll records
• Responds to inquiries from employees, managers and other departments to resolve payroll and time keeping related issues
• Investigates and resolves discrepancies in payroll data and works with other departments to ensure accuracy
• Creates and analyzes payroll reports for management identifying trends and potential issues. Reports errors in payroll accounting to the proper management representative with recommendations

Qualifications

• 3 + years of experience in Payroll function
• 2 + years in an Accounting related function a plus
• Full-cycle Workday payroll experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college in Accounting, Finance or related field. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent
• Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Very strong verbal and written communication
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, accounting software and payroll/HRIS systems
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to handle confidential information with utmost care and quality
• Proven ability to stay current on multi-state payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data and, payroll taxes
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service
• Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including HR, Finance, IT and external vendors
