Job summary

Cash Construction Company, Inc. is hiring a Payroll Specialist to process weekly payroll, remit garnishments, and handle quarterly payroll tax returns. You will support Finance and Accounting, ensure SOX compliance, and back up the front desk as needed.

This on-site Texas position requires strong accuracy and collaboration with HR. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in payroll/related accounting and familiarity with Viewpoint, Oracle, ADP, Power BI, and Excel. Bilingual is a plus.

  • Bilingual
  • At least 2 years of accounting, payroll or related business experience required.
  • Experience with Viewpoint, Oracle, ADP, Power BI, Excel, B2W, and Microsoft Teams preferred.
  • Experience with payroll system software
  • Prevailing wage experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of payroll taxes, SOX controls and payroll compliance.
  • Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Fast and accurate data entry of timecards, including the ability to accurately proof pre-entered payroll data and follow-up with field personnel on any issues or inconsistencies.
  • Ability to learn new systems and new methods of payroll process in a construction environment.
  • Timely communication with field regarding missing hours, employees or cost codes, including obtaining proper documentation of those communication efforts.
  • Ensure accurate and update master file information.
  • Organize and maintain files and timecards digitally after each weekly payroll.
  • Act as a resource who provides excellent customer service, either in-person or over the telephone, to employees and/or supervisors with questions or concerns about paychecks.
  • Coordinate with the Human Resources department to ensure timely cross reference of information.
  • Assist with quarterly payroll tax returns.
  • Review deductions, benefits and 401(k) accuracy.
  • Post Payroll, Equipment, Job Cost and GL weekly.
  • Set up and remit garnishments and child support payments
  • Assist the Payroll Supervisor and other team members with special projects, as needed
  • Provide coverage and/or back up as needed for front desk receptionist

Overview

Cash Construction, a MasTec company, is currently hiring for a Payroll Specialist. This position is responsible for processing weekly payroll using a variety of time capture systems, remitting garnishments to outside agencies, processing quarterly payroll tax returns, and ensuring SOX compliance. The Payroll Specialist also supports Finance and Accounting functions and provides backup support to maintain consistent organizational services.

Responsibilities
