Job summary

Renewal by Andersen Corporation is seeking a Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate semi-monthly payroll for a workforce of about 700 across multiple states, upholding compliant and timely processing.

You’ll collaborate with HR, Benefits, Finance and Operations, driving payroll accuracy while exploring automation and workflow improvements to boost efficiency and accuracy across the organization.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience.
  • Experience processing payroll for 500+ employees.
  • Experience processing multi-state payroll.
  • Strong understanding of wage and hour laws, payroll taxes, garnishments, and deductions.
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems such as Paylocity, ADP, UKG, Workday, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for formulas, data analysis, auditing, and reporting.
  • A mature team player in a collaborative environment.
  • Creative, can-do approach to tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Process semi-monthly payroll for ~700 employees across multiple states.
  • Audit timesheets, bonuses, deductions, taxes, and PTO.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.
  • Partner with HR, Benefits, Finance, and Operations on payroll accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, automation, and reporting.
  • Draft clear communications to team members and leaders across locations.

What You’ll Do
  • Process accurate semi-monthly payroll for approximately 700 employees across multiple states (WA, ID, CA, and OR) and legal entities.
  • Audit payroll data including hours worked, commissions, bonuses, deductions, taxes, garnishments, PTO balances, and benefit deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
  • Partner with HR, Benefits, Finance, and Operations to support payroll accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll workflows, reporting, automation, and operational efficiencies.
  • Draft, distribute, and maintain clear, professional, and timely written communications to team members and leaders across multiple locations.
What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience.
  • Experience processing payroll for 500+ employees.
  • Experience processing multi-state payroll.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, garnishments, and deductions.
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems such as Paylocity, ADP, UKG, Workday, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with demonstrated experience using Excel for formulas, data analysis, auditing, and reporting.
  • A mature team player that thrives in a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Approach any challenge with a can-do attitude and take a creative approach to accomplishing tasks.
Bonus Points
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification is a plus.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Compensation & What We Offer
  • Pay: $24.04 - $28.85 per hour, paid semi-monthly (twice a month).
