Job summary

Catholic Charities of Long Island is seeking a Payroll Specialist to maintain payroll records, process regular reporting, and support audits on Long Island. You will collaborate with the Finance team to ensure payroll integrity and accuracy in a compassionate nonprofit setting.

The role requires at least 2 years of payroll experience, familiarity with ADP EV6/ADP Workforce Manager, and strong attention to detail. Full-time with a 9-5 schedule and one remote day is offered.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation changes.
• Process monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting, including W-2s and other required documentation.
• Support payroll audits and assist with internal and external compliance reviews.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to increase payroll accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare journal entries and perform payroll reconciliations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with the Finance team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of payroll and accounting data

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Working knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and payroll tax requirements.
• Experience with ADP Enterprise Version 6 (EV6) and ADP Workforce Manager preferred.
• Strong mathematical, organizational, and problem-solving skills as well as excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Schedule:

full time - 35 hours per week - 9 AM - 5 PM Monday - Friday with one day remote

Rate of Pay:

$55K annual
