Job summary

Catholic Charities of Long Island is seeking a Payroll Specialist to maintain employee payroll records, process regular payroll cycles, and support audits. Join a mission-driven team delivering dignified care across Nassau and Suffolk.

The role is full-time (35 hours/week, 9am–5pm) with a starting rate around $55,000 annually. ADP EV6 and ADP Workforce Manager experience is preferred, along with strong math and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Working knowledge of payroll laws, wage and hour regulations, and payroll tax requirements.
• Experience with ADP EV6 and ADP Workforce Manager preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation changes.
• Process monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting, including W-2s and other required documentation.
• Support payroll audits and assist with internal and external compliance reviews.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to increase payroll accuracy and efficiency.
• Prepare journal entries and perform payroll reconciliations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and timely resolution of discrepancies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with the Finance team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of payroll and accounting data.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation changes.

Schedule: full time – 35 hours per week - 9 AM – 5 PM Monday - Friday

Rate of Pay: $55K annual

The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation, such as the value of benefits, which may be applicable to this position.
