Job summary

Dayforce US, Inc. seeks a Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end German payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. You will resolve employee and client queries, maintain knowledge of German payroll regulations, and support HR/payroll functions for German clients.

You will work with cross‑functional teams across Europe and North America, handling high‑volume payroll processing and continuous improvements to payroll processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of German payroll experience.
• Strong German and English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Experience handling high-volume payroll environments (3,000+ employees).
• Ability to work directly with clients and resolve complex issues using critical thinking.
• Strong understanding of quality control and auditing standards.
• Up-to-date knowledge of German tax and social insurance regulations.
• Experience with German payroll systems such as LoGa, SAP, or Paisy.
• Customer-focused, proactive, self-driven approach.
• Ability to collaborate globally with Europe and North America teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensure payroll cycle components (tax/benefits) are processed, reconciled, audited, and delivered on time.
• Process payroll changes, payments, and runs for assigned clients.
• Perform quality control and auditing to maintain accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve payroll issues and inquiries.
• Provide HR and payroll support per contractual, regulatory, and business requirements.
• Create/update SOPs and conduct quarterly documentation reviews.
• Take ownership of deliverables and projects from start to finish.
• Identify and act on opportunities for process improvements.

About the Opportunity

Location: Work is what you do, not where you go. For this role, we are open to remote work and can hire anywhere in Germany.

Dayforce is seeking a Payroll Specialist responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes including validation, auditing, and completion of payroll activities. This role requires building strong client relationships, resolving employee and client queries within defined SLAs, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of German payroll legislation.

What You’ll Get to Do

• Ensure all aspects of the payroll cycle, including tax and benefits, are processed, reconciled, audited, and delivered accurately and on time.
• Process payroll changes, payments, and payroll runs for assigned clients.
• Perform quality control and auditing to maintain high accuracy and low error rates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve payroll issues and employee inquiries.
• Provide HR and payroll support services in line with contractual, regulatory, and business requirements.
• Create, update, and review standard operating procedures, including quarterly documentation reviews.
• Take full ownership of deliverables and projects from initiation through completion.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and act on them.

Skills and Experience We Value
