Emergence Health Network in El Paso, TX, is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to manage all payroll activities, ensure tax compliance, and prepare reports.
You will process time and attendance (eTime), handle deductions, reconcile records, prepare year-end reporting, and coordinate with Human Resources on new hires and terminations. A Bachelor's degree and CPP preferred.

The purpose of this job is to perform all activities necessary to process payroll, including maintaining related records, filing tax reports and voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments, preparing accounting transactions and documents, documenting and updating procedures, and preparing special reports for management. Incumbent is solely responsible for all payroll and related activities.
This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position, as necessary.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field major supplemented by two (2) years of experience processing multi-state payroll; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
CPP preferred.
Experience with trauma-informed services; cognitive behavioral therapies, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); and motivational therapies including the use of incentives, preferred.
Knowledge of trauma-informed theories, principals, and practices (includes multi-faceted understanding of concepts such as community trauma, intergenerational and historical trauma, parallel processes, and universal precautions), preferred.
Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
