AccruePartners seeks a skilled payroll professional to manage bi-weekly Canadian payroll for about 500 associates, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.

You will verify time data, handle hires/terminations, and stay current on holidays, benefits, and pension equivalents to 401(k) plans, while collaborating with HR and finance under a remote supervisory structure.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of payroll experience.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and holidays.
  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now is highly preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy for ~500 employees.
  • Strong internal customer service and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to review payroll reports and resolve discrepancies with management.
  • Willingness to be flexible with work location, on-site with potential remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly Canadian payroll for approximately 500 associates, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review and verify time and attendance data exported from the timekeeping system, addressing discrepancies with managers.
  • Manage new hire setups, terminations, and first-pay payouts in the payroll system.
  • Maintain knowledge of payroll regulations, holidays, and benefits, including pension equivalents to 401(k).
  • Collaborate with the payroll lead and HR team, reporting to a remote supervisor.
  • Communicate with internal customers and managers to resolve payroll issues professionally.
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports to finance and HR, supporting GL reconciliation.
  • Participate in ongoing training (ADP webinars) to stay current with payroll systems and compliance.

What You Will Do
  • Process bi-weekly Canadian payroll for approximately 500 associates, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review and verify time and attendance data exported from the timekeeping system, addressing discrepancies with managers.

  • Collaborate closely with the payroll lead and HR team, reporting directly to a remote supervisor.
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers and managers to resolve payroll issues with professionalism and tact.
  • Generate and distribute payroll-related reports to finance and HR departments, supporting general ledger reconciliation.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development, including ADP webinars and seminars, to stay current with payroll systems and compliance.
HOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll
  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now payroll system is highly preferred; experience with other payroll systems like Workday may be considered if accompanied by strong payroll knowledge
  • Solid understanding of payroll regulations, including holidays, benefits, and pension equivalents to 401(k)
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately process payroll for approximately 500 employees
  • Excellent internal customer service skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with managers, HR, and finance teams
  • Ability to review and analyze payroll reports, identify discrepancies, and coordinate with management to resolve issues
  • Willingness to be flexible with work location, including initial on-site presence and potential remote work arrangements
