We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team! This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with policies and regulations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Process assigned weekly payrolls accurately and on schedule.
  • Enter employee time data using various methods, including import files, spreadsheets, and manual entry.
  • Review and balance payroll files and audit reports.
  • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain payroll operations by following policies, procedures, and reporting any necessary changes.
  • Collaborate with payroll, HR, and other departments to ensure seamless workflow and accurate employee data maintenance.
  • Ensure correct deductions for payroll taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other items.
  • Assist with the preparation of Certified Payrolls.
  • Uphold compliance with payroll data governance, timekeeping, record-keeping, and internal controls.
  • Support internal and external auditors by providing payroll documents and reports as needed.
  • Perform additional payroll-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
  • CPP or FPC certification preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in high-volume, multi-state payroll processing (construction industry experience is a plus).
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Intermediate Excel required).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Experience with ADP or Ceridian is preferred but not required.
