Job summary

nLIGHT, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Processor to manage payroll for 600+ employees across several states. This temporary, part-time role reports to the Payroll Manager and requires meticulous data entry, calculations, and adherence to payroll calendars.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of payroll experience, proficiency with Excel and Paylocity, and the ability to handle confidential information. This position offers competitive pay and an opportunity to contribute to a growing manufacturing

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a payroll processor, or similar role.
  • Experience processing payroll for multiple states in a government contract environment is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with Paylocity is desirable.
  • Experience with a wide range of manufacturing or a publicly held company preferred.
  • Solid proficiency with Excel and working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products.
  • HS Diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

  • Process off-cycle payrolls in a multi-state environment for 600+ employees including data entry, calculations (for non-standard and off-cycle payments), tracking of timesheet records, payments in accordance with payroll calendar, and resolution of any issues that may arise during the payroll process.
  • Support bi-weekly payroll activities by validating timesheet accuracy, tracking approvals, and ensuring all employee change documentation is received and complete for each pay period.
  • Work with 3rd parties to ensure timely processing, calculation, payment, recording filing, and reporting on payroll taxes.
  • Prepare and submit pretax benefit contributions and funding.
  • Assisting employees on payroll and time reporting policies and development of resources and tools to address recurring needs.

Description

The Payroll Processor is responsible for processing company payroll and maintaining employee payroll records. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and possesses strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality. This is a temporary part-time position reporting directly to the Payroll Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process off-cycle payrolls in a multi-state environment for 600+ employees including data entry, calculations (for non-standard and off-cycle payments), tracking of timesheet records, payments in accordance with payroll calendar, and resolution of any issues that may arise during the payroll process.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Starting level and pay depends on qualifications:
  • Payroll Processor: $25.00 to $30.00
