Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a payroll position and at least two years of supervisory experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Proven ability to utilize an HRIS system, such as Colleague or Banner.
• Knowledge of Colleague and ADP Time and Attendance system.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll operations for the university and the Roger Williams School of Law.
• Supervise payroll staff to meet processing deadlines and coordinate with HR and Finance.
• Develop, maintain and ensure compliance of payroll procedures and data integrity.
• Manage salary calculations, union dues, and related reports.
• Prepare federal/state payroll tax reports and audits; handle audits with regulatory agencies.
• Test ERP system functionality and support time/attendance systems.
• Provide training and documentation; stay current with regulatory changes.
