Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations for approximately 300-400 employees across the United States and Canada. The role ensures timely, accurate payroll processing and regulatory compliance while partnering with HR and Finance to support employees and business operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of payroll experience, strong knowledge of payroll taxes, and hands-on experience with major payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, Workday, or Dayforce.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of payroll experience, including U.S. and Canadian payroll.
• Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, Workday, Dayforce, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage all payroll processing for U.S. and Canadian employees.
• Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on schedule.
• Oversee payroll tax filings, year-end reporting, and regulatory compliance.
• Process employee changes including new hires, promotions, transfers, leaves, and terminations.
• Review payroll data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly.
• Serve as the primary contact for employee payroll questions and concerns.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and external payroll providers to ensure accurate payroll administration.
• Maintain payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Support payroll audits and month-end reporting activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and increase efficiency.
