Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Director of Payroll Operations to lead all payroll processing and related systems across multiple states for a 33,000+ employee base. You will drive accuracy, compliance, and efficiencies in a complex environment.

Responsibilities include managing Payroll Leaders, system upgrades, and cross-functional collaboration with HR/IT to optimize processes and data accuracy. A CPA/CPP background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15+ years of payroll experience in a multi-state environment.
• Minimum of 10+ years of management experience including recruitment, performance management and budget responsibilities.
• Strong working knowledge of federal and state regulations for wage and tax reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll administration, timekeeping, taxes and garnishments for a multi-state workforce.
• Lead staff hiring, goal setting and performance management.
• Ensure payroll processes comply with federal wage and hour laws and hospital policies.
• Manage system upgrades and maintain PeopleSoft/PSOFT configurations and interfaces.
