Job summary

Nexus HR in Sacramento, CA is seeking an HR Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll and support onboarding. This role covers all HR facets with a payroll emphasis, processing multiple payroll cycles, and ensuring accuracy and compliance.

You will train staff on payroll systems, collaborate with IT and HR teams, and maintain records while guiding new hires through onboarding from offer to first day.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field.
• 2-4 years HR onboarding or recruitment experience.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with HRIS and onboarding software
• Proficiency with payroll management software (Paychex, QuickBooks, Prism, TimeCo)

Responsibilities

• Payroll Administration: processing bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, and off-cycle payrolls.
• Calculate and process employee compensation, deductions, bonuses, and expenses.
• Reconcile payroll data to general ledger accounts.
• Manage employee time tracking and attendance systems.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with payroll laws.
• Manage 401(k) and other benefit plan deductions.
• Serve as payroll SME and provide training and support.
• Prepare and process 940 and 941 tax forms.
